Compassion

Be thankful this day for Compassion.

Compassion is another level of love. Over a long period of time, we have created a Darwinian Society, a competitive environment. Our natural state is not one of competitive nature, it is compassion. Through the choice of living our lives, we conducted experiments by following the lead of our planet and the inhabitants. By following the lead of other species, our human self thought it was ok to be competitive. We learn from example. From the examples given in nature, we interpreted the interactions as competitive. When one form of species kills off another, we viewed that as claiming dominance. We interpreted that one interaction, along with others as the normalcy to interact with our kind. The act of dominance plays in every faucet of our life, everywhere from the boardroom to the classroom, even on the public streets. We learned how to assert our dominance to overtake another to get what self wants. We assert our dominance through creating a sense of fear and impose our will upon others. Now we are moving to place to create more compassion for self and others around us. How can we welcome others in our life with absolute love and compassion?

To truly understand compassion, we have to look at self. Do we accept our self as we are? With self-acceptance, we can truly see who we are without judgment. Through the self-acceptance comes the forgiveness we owe our self to grow in wholeness, completeness of self. During the growing in forgiveness process, we release all we turn up causing, fear, and the illusion created to be less than who we truly are. "Love is what we are born with. Fear is what we have learned here. The spiritual journey is the unlearning of fear and the acceptance of love back into our hearts." - (Marianne Williamson). At times it can be challenging to be an "open book" all the time because of what we allowed our human self to endure the illusion, creating a thick wall between our two halves, human and spiritual selves. With giving and receiving forgiveness, we can slowly melt the wall created to keep all separate. Remember we are one with self.

Coming to the understanding through forgiveness creates compassion is easy once we, for self and others see who they really are. In our minds we create an illusion of what we desire instead of seeing what is truly there. Yes we bring fourth our desires, but we bring them as they are, not what we create. Our manifestations are just that, bringing fourth what is already in existence. Compassion already exist, we just have to bring it fourth, within self. Yet, we reserve our compassion for those we know. However when we are moved enough, we extend compassion to others we don't know. All levels of love are expressed and shouldn't be placed on reserve for those close to us. The challenge then becomes, how much should I express or when should it be expressed?

As humans, we can be so open and trusting when it comes to giving and receiving compassion/love, until we are harmed emotionally. Then we hang on the harmed caused by the initial experience. Then the compassion/love becomes conditional for self and others. It becomes challenging to trust self and others with the giving of compassion/love until it is earned by self or others. To experience the totality of life we have to free our self from the prison created by withholding the expression of compassion/love from self and others. Remember, when we were created to experience life it was done, unconditionally. We have to offer and extend the same to others and self.
One quote came across my vision and would like to share it and as follows: "If you truly loved yourself, you could never hurt another." - Buddha
Compassion is a give and take flow. The more we extend self in an unconditional compassionate manner, the more we receive. True compassion comes from an authentic place within. Compassion is being aware of the desires of those around you, (i.e. others species, strangers, friends and family). With the heartfelt compassion expressed, we can meet the desires of self with integrity and morals intact. Through compassion we learn more of self, others and our internal and external environment. We are connected through compassion.

Be thankful this day and everyday for accepting self as is, creating compassion for self.
Be thankful this day and everyday for compassion to freely flow into self and others bringing down all barriers.
Be thankful this day and everyday for the compassion expressed to self and others, allowing more compassion to flow in the universe.
